Tagkey: Create Custom iPhone Free Ringtones using only iTunes, A guide to making custom iPhone ringtones for free, ringtone but the ihone would not sync!!!, apparently after itunes 7.4 they blocked custom made mp3 ringtones
Apple's iTunes is a free application used on personal computers for the storage of digital media files. It is also used to sync digital content with Apple's iPod and iPhone devices. If you have made a custom ringtone for your iPhone within iTunes and want to transfer it to your iPhone, you will need to properly assign it so that iTunes version 7.7 will recognize it. The process is quick and simple.
Difficulty:
Moderately Easy
Instructions
1. Open iTunes 7.7 on your computer.
2. Click the "Library" option on the top left side of the iTunes application.
3. Locate the ringtone track from your library, then click, drag and drop it onto your computer's desktop.
4. Select the ringtone from your computer desktop and change the extension from "m4a" to "m4r." The "r" in the extension name will help iTunes 7.7 recognize it as a ringtone file.
5. Drag and drop the altered ringtone back into your iTunes player. It will now be recognized as a ringtone and be stored in the "Ringtones" menu on the left side of the screen.
